The first parrot Barbara owned - at the age of 7 - (pictured left) was a Nanday Conure cock named "Coco". She owned and bred Budgies, Cockatiels, Canaries, Parotlets, Blue Headed Pionus and Finches. Sadly, in 1994 Barbara had to leave her beloved birds behind due to the move from Germany to Australia. In the leafy suburb of Harbord, Sydney, the first birds purchased were Canaries, followed by Superb Parrots.
After moving to Ramornie, "Elanora" soon housed some more feathered friends including different species of fowl . In January 2001 Barbara set up "Mt Ramornie Aviaries". Thank you to Noddy & Neville of Casuarine Parrot Gardens for your help and incentive to go back to breeding birds. Barbara is a member of the local Northern Rivers Avicultural Society, as well as the Parrot Society of Australia.
